We all know what souls are, but what is a soul's consiousness?
A being's SOUL is split into two: the Soul itself, and the consiousness. The Soul is practically what let's a being become animate, and it hosts it's consiousness. The Consiousness is everything that the being was during it's life: their memories, feelings, and personality. While a Soul can exist without a Consiousness, the same cannot be said vis-versa. Unless a Dominion makes a new body for someone's Consiousness, it cannot exist.
When a Soul's will is strong, it may cause a Dominion to take a special interest in them, and grant them a new chance at life as a REVIVED Reaper.
When a being dies, it becomes a Ghost or a Shade. Their soul tends to look like a butterfly, and they flutter around until they're picked up by a Reaper.
In this state, the Shade can manifest into different forms; often these forms depend on how powerful a will is. That is to say, the more power their will is, the closer it will look to their form before they died.
When a soul take long to harvest, they may start to wallow in their self-pity and regrets. This state of mind produces Wraith Energy, which slowly changed and alters the soul, to the point where it needs to be 'soothed' At this point, the Shade becomes a Wraith, and the only way for the soul to be harvested is to 'sooth' them, which can only be done by a experienced Virtue and/or Scholar.
